Friends of Bigfork Fire Department

We are again sponsoring our annual golf tournament at Eagle Bend at noon on September 5th, 2025.  We are also having pickleball and tennis tournaments.  Contact Jim Sticka at 406-692-6050.  Don't forget our BBQ Friday evening at 5 p.m. in the Harbor Village Pavilion at Eagle Bend.

If you can't play or attend the BBQ, please consider making a donation:

The idea for the Friends of Bigfork Fire Department was originally proposed in 2007 as a way for community members, who could not be active firefighters, to contribute to the department in a meaningful way.

FoBFD is a non-profit (501c-3) organization, dedicated to providing funds for the safety and training of our FD members. We are made up of many enthusiastic neighbors and friends.

FoBFD began raising money by organizing an annual fall fundraiser on the Friday of or before 9 -11. This affair is called the “FUNdraiser BBQ for the Bigfork Fire Department", featuring; dinner and drinks, and social gathering, which gives the community the opportunity to meet our FIRE/EMS crew.

The event includes the “Niner-Niner” golf tournament at Eagle Bend Golf Course, along with tennis at the Montana Athletic Club-Bigfork and pickle-ball at the Jewel Basin Center.

The Bigfork community has participated every year, and contributed most generously. OVER half-a-million dollars has been raised so far, allowing us to build a ‘Live Fire Training Building’ at the Echo Lake Station. This building provides the actual conditions firefighters experience when entering a structure engulfed in flames.

We are currently involved in the purchase of a state-of-the-art Mannequin that will enhance the knowledge and safety of our firefighters and EMT’s when they respond to you in your time of need. Some of the purchases already made include; Complete Replacement of Mobile, Portable, and Base Station Radios, Wild Land Rescue Vehicle, Rope Rescue Equipment, Turnout Suits, Extrication Tools, Fire Helmets, Emergency Lighting, and Highway Safety Vests.

Please consider contributing to, or volunteering with FoBFD. We’d love to have you in our organization.  Call Jim Sticka at 406-692-6050 or email [email protected] for more information.
